The Gold Coast Water (GCW) project included the upgrade of the Mudgeeraba water treatment plant. The project had a total value of $8M.
Gold Coast Water engaged Tallai Project Group to Project Manage the Mudgeeraba WTP Upgrade
The upgrade works included 2 major subcontracts with Tyco and Water Treatment Australia (WTA, the works included the following:
- Complete refurbishment of 16 Multimedia Gravity Filters
- Upgrading the chemical dosing facilities
- New carbon dioxide dosing facility.
- Modify existing potassium permanganate dosing system.
- Modify the alum dosing system.
- New polydadmac dosing system.
- New sodium hypochlorite dosing system.
- New caustic soda dosing system.
- Modify lime dosing system.
- Modify polymer dosing system.
- Install new service water pump and pipework.
- Associated electrical work.
- Construct sludge handling facilities:
- 1 ML sludge storage tank.
- Sludge pump station and filter pit.
- Sludge pipework.
- Modify recycle pipework at inlet.
- Install variable speed drives on recycle pumps.
- Associated electrical work
- Supply install and commission a new process control system.
